Rogue Valley Council of Governments
Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs)
The goal of the Clean Water Act (CWA) is to make all waters fishable and swimmable. Under the TMDL program, local communities are implementing plans to maintain and improve water quality in Bear Creek, the Rogue River, and many tributary streams. Plans include a wide range of activities including controlling invasive species, restoring riparian areas by planting native trees and shrubs to increase shade and reduce temperatures, water quality monitoring, working with local schools, providing educational programs and trainings, such as Salmon Watch, supporting the Stream Smart Program, and other activities.
