ALERTWildfire Cameras in Southern Oregon
Rogue Valley Council of Governments, in partnership with the University of Oregon’s Hazards Lab, is leading the effort to build out an ALERTWildfire camera system in Southern Oregon. The first camera went up on an IV Data Center tower in Cave Junction thanks to the generous support of the tower owner who will be providing the tower space and data telemetry at no charge. Two additional cameras have recently been installed in Jackson County on Mt Baldy and Long Mountain thanks to a partnership with Project A/Rogue Broadband. For more information on ALERTWildfire please visit www.ALERTWildfire.org.
Our Drone Services program supports projects in all of our departments, for member jurisdictions, and for partner organizations. The program includes drones (Matrice 210 V2, DJI Phantom 4 Pro+, and a Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual), FAA licensed operators, a tracking and reporting system, data collection, and processing/editing of data collected.
