NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AND BUDGET HEARING

During a public meeting of the Budget Committee of the Rogue Valley Council of Governments (RVCOG) held on April 22, 2026, the Budget Committee voted to recommend the proposed budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, to the RVCOG Board of Directors. A budget hearing will be held on May 27, 2026, at 12:00 pm at the RVCOG office. This meeting will also be accessible virtually. At the close of the hearing, the Board of Directors will be asked to adopt the budget. The Board of Directors will also be asked to discuss and adopt a supplemental budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025.

This meeting is a public meeting. Any person may appear at the meeting, in person or virtually, and make a public comment. Public comments for consideration by the Board may also be emailed prior to the meeting to admin@rvcog.org. A copy of the 2026-2027 approved budget may be obtained at RVCOG’s office or by clicking HERE.

WE’VE LOST OUR COMMERCIAL KITCHEN LEASE

From the program’s inception in 2001, RVCOG Food & Friends has leased the commercial kitchen in the Olsrud Family Nutrition Center from ACCESS. Unfortunately, we received a letter on Monday, March 3rd indicating that our lease agreement is terminating effective August 31, 2025. That gives us less than six months to find a new commercial kitchen for the production of approximately 1,400 meals we serve and deliver to older adults in Jackson and Josephine Counties each day.

Update: December 2025 – Our ACCESS lease has been extended through at least June 30, 2026. RVCOG is working with the City of Central Point on a new location for the Food & Friends kitchen. More to come as plans progress.

Update: March 2026 – The lease with ACCESS has now been extended through December 31, 2026. We are still working with the City of Central Point in procuring the new location for our Food & Friends kitchen.
