About Clean Energy Works
Clean Energy Works simplifies the transformation of older homes into energy efficient and livable homes by offering bundled energy remodel services in collaboration with Energy Trust of Oregon, utilities, financial institutions, local communities and contractors. Clean Energy Works intends to activate 6000 residential and small business energy remodels by the end of 2013, thus leveraging $100 million in private capital and fulfilling the terms of a 2010 investment by the U.S. Department of Energy.

The Clean Energy Works program is:
- A financing solution that makes it easy for homeowners to reduce energy waste and increase the comfort of their home. Local lenders offer competitive loans that can be paid back on utility bills, where energy savings help cover loan amounts.
- A bundling of multiple energy efficiency improvements into one, fully guided energy remodel project that simplifies the process and ensures a high standard of quality. Homeowners are paired with third-party Energy Advisors who shepherd them through every step of the process, from start to finish. Homes are thoroughly evaluated for energy waste. Solutions are tailored for each homeowner.
- A one-stop-shop collaboration of private sector energy experts and local contractors, banks, governments and utilities that reduce a community’s energy waste and cost.
- A non-profit committed to positive environmental and social change that reduces a community’s environmental impact and creates jobs with family-supporting wages, benefits and career pathways.
Clean Energy Works partners secure all of the following project amenities for their communities:
- Centralized branding and marketing services
- Online customer application portal
- Customer support provided by highly-trained Energy Advisors
- Highest quality contractors and building science professionals
- Education workshops for homeowners
- Below market rate financing (5.99%)
- On utility bill repayment (not available in all areas)
- 100% quality control verification
- Family-supporting wages, benefits and career pathways for workers
- Workforce and contractor support
Clean Energy Works customers will have access to a financial and incentive package that far surpasses other market offerings:
To maximize demand during the initial launch, CEWO will fund promotions and incentives that significantly lower the principle cost homeowners must finance. Doing so, not only provides a compelling marketing story, but also reduces the homeowners’ debt burden.
